Top Local Tips for Alicante

Nou Manolin - Excellent restaurant! Do go to Nou Manolin in Alicante, Villegas 3 (see web page at http://www.noumanolin.com/index.php?seccion=localizacion). Piripi is their other restaurant but not as good. We really enjoyed our paella in Nou Manolin, it was the best meal of our one-week trip! Not the cheapest one but very good food indeed!

C6 Bus The C6 bus is great it leaves the airport every 40 minutes and goes straight into the city. It leaves the city every 40 minutes and goes back to the airport. The cost is 1.10 euro, A taxi is 18 plus euros.

using the tram There is a super tram system which goes up the cost to Denia. I spent a day in Altea which takes about an hour. It is a lovely Spanish town with a church and old part on top of a hill- well worth a visit. There is also a lovely walk on the front where there are plenty of restaurants and a small harbour. Go to the Opera cafe for lunch if you can get a table. It is fabulous and my friend and I both enjoyed a most delicious salad beautifully presented.
