Been here 6 times - will still go back for more

from Posh-Toni
Well what can I say about the lovely Laguna Park one! I've been here 6 times in total and everytime has been an amazing experience.
I first stayed at Laguna Park 1 in early 2001 - I was taking my mum away for her first holiday abroad. It was so good that as soon as we got back home we booked up to go back again in the September (2001) taking my little sister with us.
I can't find a fault with this hotel and don't understand people that complain about it. It is a very clean and friendly resort - what more do you want from a holiday.
Each time I have gone there the staff have all remembered me and been pleasant and helpful everytime. Due to relationships I hadn't gone back to Laguna for 4 years, but being single again I decided to take my litle sister back there. We walked into the reception area and nothing had changed. The reception staff all remembered us and even though they had allocated me a ground floor apartment, as soon as I said that I would like a high floor they changed my allocation immediately. I stayed in Block E in 502 - there are only two rooms on the top floors, so no noise and a fantastic view.

Ed the entertainer was fantastic, he kept me laughing for the whole holiday - even when he volunteered me to have a snake wrapped round my throat - which petrified me. Everynight I was in the hotel for the entertainment and it was fine for everyone.

The restaurant is lovely - Lois is such a character and really friendly. The food is fine - I ate there every night and I was on self catering, so could've gone anywhere, but that is how much I enjoyed the food.

I'm not sure how much more I can say about Laguna Park one. I am even planning next years trip to go back at the same time as a load of people I met out there this year.

If anyone is in two minds whether to go or not, then just go - it is fantastic. The price reflects this. I hear people complaining about the most stupidest things - all I can say to them is that they need to get themselves into a 5* hotel and pay through the nose, because they are obviously too posh for an apartment holiday.

Good value !

from Flynn-bo
We stayed at laguna Park 1 from 4th July 06 - 11th July 06. We decided on a last minute hol 2 days before we went and were happy enough with what we found there.
We usually opt for a 4* hotel or a villa when on holiday but being that this was a last minute hol we thought we'd give it a try.
The whole complex was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful but the rooms are dated and basic but to be honest, it's only somewhere to get your head down at night so you cant be too fussy. was quite funny in the mornings to watch everybody suddenly appear from knowhere to knabb thier sunloungers and place thier towel on it then disapear off out for the day...true brit style. We never bothered with doing this as there was usually always some left for us later on in the day when we wanted to use the pool. Be careful with the pool ! there is a small pool for younger children but the main pool is very deep with only a small part of it down the far end, shallow enough for children before it very quickly drops into the deep end.
We never ate in the resteraunt as it was cheap enough to eat out, which we did every mealtime inc breakfast. Best places to eat were out the main door, turn right and about 100 yds along the road was a little chinese resteraunt, nothing to look at but what a fantastic meal and amazing value for money, staff are very friendly too and loved talking to our children and giving them little prezzies ! Also, down on the beach, take a right, go round the prom and the 1st place on the right (think it was called the"Aberdeen steak house", great value, lovely looking place and fab entertainment and last but not least, go down to the beach and the 1st place on the left next to the stairs do great food and entertainment too. Watch all resteraunts and bars for adding on extras to your bill, we had this happen in a few places but none of the mentioned ones. Also, check the price of your favorite tipple before ordering, they seem to be more expensive in some places to what is advertised ! There are ticket touts etc etc everywhere and to be honest, they are a pain in the butt, don't get sucked in by them. Watch when crossing the zebra crossings, cars will only stop if they feel like it so don't automaticly step out !
There was work going on in some of the apartments while we were there which started at 8.30am every morning and yes it was very noisy and to be honest our hol ended at the right time as they were next door to us the day we left. Was'nt too much of a prob as it got us up and out at a reasonable time. There is entertainement of an evening but we went out every night, without meaning to sound a snob but it tended to be the likes of your "shaz and dave" loud beer swigging tattood type that were in there and that was just the females. It was very loud and went on until about 2am but we all managed to sleep after a busy day anyway.
I would say that 1 week is more than enough here, we did everything there was to do, all trips, watersports, shopping, spent time by the pool and on the beach, 2 weeks would be too long. There was plenty to entertain ourselves (both 33) and our 2 children 12 and 6 and everywhere felt clean, safe and good value for money. We never saw any cockroaches around the complex but you will see them on the walk back up the hill from the beach at nightime ! don't wear flip flopps down there at nightime ! All in all, good value for money.

great complex if you dont need sleep!

arrived 27th june 2006 for 14 nights, staff, cleanliness, entertainment, pool etc, etc cannot be faulted. However we were lucky to get 1 nights sleep out of 14 as the noise from groups of teenagers was absolutely horrendous. the noise usually started about 1 am and carried on until it was time to que for the sun loungers. (set your alarm or you wont get one). We experienced a naked man standing at his door drinking a bottle of beer while shouting accross the complex to even more teenagers who were only too happy to reply in loud screaming voices. the next evening we had a female being sick out her window from the upper balcony only to give my 14yr old son the V sign the next morning. This continued even though security was phoned every night and the rep informed, but this is not the fault of the Laguna management as they are powerless to do much as it is up to the reps and they were hopeless. The management expressed as much concern as all the guests and said that this amount of young people is not usual at the laguna. Some children were so terrified they wanted to go home. The tour companies need to deal with this problem as this complex is brill otherwise. Just home today and looking forward to my first nights sleep in two weeks. I stayed in D block but A, B, and C block were also affected.

what a lovely hotel

We Have just returned from a week at laguna park 1 , we had a lovely time the hotel was great and the staff were lovely too . the night time entertainment could of been better but you just have to make do with whats on offer . The location is not the best as its about a fifteen minute walk to the beach ( uphill on the way back ) and about a fifteen minute bus journey to veronicas strip ( the main clubbing area ) . The hotel itself we could not fault , but tenerife is not as good as made out to be .

well.... read on

Booked the holiday on wednesday 7th June on a late deal going Friday 9th June. Stated that we where staying in the laguna park 1 appartments and i came straight home and checked the reviews on the internet. I must admit after reading a few reviews on the net i started having doubts on wether we had made the right decision or not and i can tell you it was money well spent. On arriving at the appartments my first impression was good and as the holiday went on it was even better. I asked my partner what the bad reviews where for and where they come from because hand on my heart i can honestly say this is a brilliant place to stay. The staff where friendly, the rooms where clened DAILY, the pool was very clean with a life guard on hand to help and clean during the day if neccesary. People where complaining of cockroaches when i looked it up on the internet about this place, and i seen one all holiday and it wasnt in the room or apartments. If you have booked up to saty at this place and have any doubts then i can say your mind will be put to rest when you arrive because this is a great place, infact we are seriously considering going back again this year.

Brilliant Holiday

Stayed in Laguna Park 1 for a week with my boyfriend. Had a really great time, the appartments are ideal for both couples and families, groups, etc. Staff are very friendly, excellent maid service with sheets and towels changed every second day. Excellent location, less than 10 minute walk to Torviscus Beach which was lovely, except the sunbeds are quite expensive. There is also a smaller beach called Playa La Pinta where the sunbeds are half the price. Lots of nice restaurants nearby, would reccomend one called Marios just out of the appartments and turn left. Most restaurants are very reasonably priced. Great nightlife too, there is a bar called the Temple Bar just on the corner near the hotel where there are 2 musicians 'The Rogue Traders'-unbelievable! Ended up going there every night! Excellent holiday overall. Only problem was cockroaches, we did find a few in our appartment but we got a spray in the supermarket which got rid of them.

fantastic

What can i say , i read the reviews 2 weeks before going here and i was worried. My mum who is a clean freak was coming (at last minute) but they must have been blind . The place was fab rooms clean and big. They are cleaned every day and fresh towels and linen evey second day. The pool is great a little one for the yonger ones and a bigger one fot the older and adults.Only thing is the water is freezing but you get a laugh watching the adults going in.YOu have to get up early to grab a sun lounger the chains come off at 9 and they are gone by 9 05 so there are no long lies. We did not think we would stay in the hotel at night but every night we did the entertainer is called ed from arbroath he was fab.Disco at 9.30 for the kids then quizz and bingo then a show then karaoke which finished at 1.You are right in the middle of everything .You can not get borred.HARLEYS is the best great food. And to top it of my mum is even going back.

re going back already!

First of all I would like to say that this is quite possibly the best holiday we have ever had! My family and I (My wife and our two teenage children) arrived after a four and a half hour flight from Bristol onto the sunny isle of Tenerife. Considering it was April the temperature was constantly high throughout. we stayed in Block D and found the apartment to be excellent. We had a large balcony over loooking the pool and the apartment was exceptionally clean.

After arriving we stayed by the pool, which is great, for the rest of the afternoon and prepared ourselves for the night. We went off site for a meal and I would like to recommend The Ship and Francis as two restaurants for your stay. They are just to the right of the hotel as you come out from the entrance. There is no entertainment on a Friday in the hotel due to a change over but this doesn't matter as it is an excuse for an early night.

The entertainment is fantastic and there are daily activities as well as night time shows. These include water polo, volleyball and killer darts just to name a few. I would recommend this as the activities are family orientated and everyone is included or you can sit these out and choose to relax in comfort by the pool.

The staff were very friendly throughout the stay and catered for your needs throughout. Everyone in the hotel speaks English so there is no problem with a language barrier.

All in all a place that I would recommend for a chilled holiday or a place for families wanting an escape. Hope you have as great a time as we did!!!

We spent a week in Laguna Park 1 with two other couples all in middle 50s Apartments quite good. Very clean . some painting going on while we were there. Brilliant location. Very friendly staff.Very quiet at night. we would definitely go back again in Feb/Mch.Would recomend a few restaurants Marios.- Verdes.- and for aspecial treat Ei Molino Blanco. This restaurant can be found easily. Turn left outside main entrance of aparts. At roundabout left again. Straight up the hill and your there. Its worth the steep climb.Just one problem. It was very difficult to get anything to sit on near the pool. Why are some people so selfish. we seen deck chairs with towels and they were never used the whole day.
