Best Restaurant Goodman Steakhose on Tverskaya. Best steakhouse this side of the Missisippi!!. My other favorite is Metropolitan Grill Seattle :-)

Kids' Restaurant Shokoladnitsa, around the corner from Detsky Mir and the Savoy Hotel (very near the Kremlin), was an excellent cafe for a light meal (lunch or early dinner), especially with children. They serve sandwiches, quiche, crepes/blinis, plus, of course, chocolate desserts (ice cream, sundaes, pastries, etc.).

Getting into sold out attractions in Moscow If tickets to the Armory are sold out, hang around the ticket office. You'll be approached by tour guides who'll take you in for about double the cost. If you don't want a tour, you may be approached by individuals trying to sell tickets at the regular price. I don't know how they do that, but they mostly cater to Russian tourists. To get into Lenin's tomb arrive by 9 AM to stand in line. Tretyakov Gallery is worth a visit if, especially if you want to see works by Russian painters. The gallery is located on a very nice pedestrian area with shopping and restaurants. Everything in Russia is odd - prices are higher for foreigners, staff at Information desks can't answer basic questions, ticket offices close for lunch breakas and are located far from attractions while bag checks are further yet. The illogic of it all may be especially bothersomefor Americans. Take it in stride as part of the "Russian experience." Red Square is fun on summer weekends - newlyweds come for pictures
