Traffic When moving throug Moscow, DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE HUGE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC. Be prepared to leave a good deal early for the airport or any planned activities if going by car or bus.

"Don't worry, be happy!" When going to Russia, use your common sense, enjoy yourself and NEVER EVER be paranoid about the s*** that the western media talk about. YES there is crime over there but it's like any place. You could be in the wrong place at the wrong time ANYWHERE! I felt perfectly safe and all right but still I kept my wits about me as I would anywhere. There's enough lowlives in the west so the western media should take a look at it's own back yard! I went around both Moscow & Saint Petersburg during the evenings and it looked incredible and jaw dropping with it's beauty and lights. So for Pete's sake go and have a ball and enjoy yourself! I no longer believe the west. Just read the guides that are written by the experts, i.e. Dorling Kindersley, Michelin, Lonely Planet etc. not some western journalist with a bladder full of hot air!

Skip Katerina City Hotel Moscow is extremly expensive, but you can get much better 4 star hotels not that far from Red Square for cca 400 EUR. Katerina City Hotel is overpriced 2 star level hotel with obviously great marketing strategy. Do not fall for it.
