Hotel Condor in Mamaia is obviously not a 4* hotel, as advertised on the hotel's website and other brochures! first of all, most rooms are twin and even though I asked for a double bed, we were first recommended to unite the two twin beds - although the beds have a wood frame that is higher than the matress and you could never be comfortable in a bed like that! Secondly, the double room we received (one of the best, having a big terrace) had low quality furniture, broken air conditioning, empty fridge, non-working telephone and the queen-size bed had a single person blanket! Breakfast was bad also and they didn't even make coffee, but we were asked instead to have an espresso from a dosing! On top of it, at check-out we were told that one towel was missing (a towel which had never been in our room, since I noticed from the beginning that there were 5 towels instead of six) and had to pay for it! I will never stay here again!

I have stayed at all the other hotels in Craiova and this is the best one in the city. All the other hotels of note have night clubs at the ground floor which does not allow you to sleep. The amenities are basic, but the breakfast is better than the other hotels as well including Helin, Ema Est, etc. I have been to many hotels and compared to them, Jiul is a two star, but in the city where all the other hotels are negative 3 stars, Jiul is a 5 star.
