Finding this hotel would have been a challenge if the airport bus hadn't dropped us off in front of it. There was a lot of sidewalk construction that made finding the hotel door a challenge. The desk clerk was on the phone everytime we went in or out and check in seemed to take a long time. The room was more than adequate, but the lights in the hallway were on a motion detector that was at the far end of the hall instead of the beginning meaning you had to navigate the long hallway in the dark! The sidewalk construction continued on Friday night until 11:00 p.m. when another hotel guest beat on the walls & windows to get some attention. The location was very convenient to the Sao Bento train station. Walking to the riverfront and the restaurant & winery areas was easy--getting back to the hotel was all uphill! Gorgeous city, no problem that we didn't speak portugese.
