On the up side, this hotel has a fantastic location right in the centre of Portalegre. It is clean and the staff are freindly. On the down side (depending on your tastes) the decor was a throw back to the '70s - complete with orange carpets, mock tan leather chairs and a TV in the lounge which is a mueseum piece. There was even a Mark 1 orange Ford escort in the car park - no kiding !! On a less humourous note - you expect at least 1 international channel - CNN or BBC News 24.... maybe even EuroSport - on the TV of a 3* hotel but here you only get 3 Portuguese channels. It is also a shame that nearly every public area in the hotel suffered really badly with cigarette smoke. In short - not awful - but there are much better small family hotels in Portalegre ....its just difficult to find them on the net.
