As we were staying 'out of season' we were offered a very reasonable rate. Our Portuguese is virtually non-existent but the staff were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Our room was on the second floor (I think) at the front of the building. The en-suite room was comfortable with effective heating and air conditioning with TV etc although tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice. Shutters prevented the bright light entering the room and a small balcony gave views up and down the street. Our breakfast was a buffet style arrangement on the upper floor where there was also a function room and was more than acceptable. The bar on the ground floor didn't seem to be open but seemed well appointed. There was a patio at the rear which was clean and tidy. There is no dedicated car parking although we parked outside without incident on the street where there was adequate space. We have now bought property nearby and would not hesitate to stay at the S. Paulo again.
