Visited VDG in 2007 and 2005 found rooms good .Food ok. Excellent for Bird watching 118 species salt pans near ,all waders ,kites .gulls,05 seen Stone Curlew. 07 Curlew Sandpiper .Donana 2hrs max Will use again. All coast excellent birding GREAT BASE

LOVELY VIEWS

Relaxation Seeker

VDG is a lovely hotel with good staff the barman in particular was excellent.The pool is clean and quiet and the beach is beautifull and goes on forever.However unless you are over 55yrs the VDG is not for you. The entertainment was awful and the magic show was laughable.Food at breakfast was fine for the 1st few days after that it became boring and we chose to eat out a lot of the time. Also if you dont get down to breakfast between 8 and 9am dont count on getting a table. However we did all relax because it was so quiet and we felt that the hotel was rather oppressive at times.

Nice and friendly staff, our room needed a little bit of updating, and could have been cleaned better. Great location right on the beach. English guests few and far between, this whole area is not full of English pubs etc if you want that go to Praia De Rocha in the opposite direction, hundreds of people out in the evenings just walking and talking, lovely atmosphere, supermarkets well used so you know that the foodstuff is fresh. Great place will go again

A great hotel, but...

The hotel's location is brilliant. The staff, rooms and service are excellent, though the food in the restaurant is sometimes cold. It was a golden wedding anniversary. The travel agent told them this, but we didn't get any wine, flowers or fruit - as promised!!

We booked V De G for our special 35 years wedding anniversary. WOW, what can I say the Hotel gave us special accommodation, a wonderful surprise present and bouquet of flowers on the day of our anniverary! The service throughout each department was exceptional. The fod in each of the three restaurants was wonderful whilst the fod in their beachbar is to die for!!
