The hotel itself was all right. Not luxury but reasonably clean. The most disaturbing thing were the enourmous italian teenage groups who disturbed the nights of our staying there!They were shouting, screaming and banging doors up to 3 am, continuously. It was really amazing how the hotel staff did not go and tell them how to behave. They should have gone and made them quiet. It seems that this hotel attracts those young student groups, so if you want to sleep when you are supposed to, do not choose this place.

Top Local Tips for Lisbon

The Oriente Area Of Lisbon Is A Must See I absoluately fell in love with the Oriente Area of Lisbon. It is new, modern and easily accessible via the subway (the "Oriente" stop on the red line (the last stop)). There's a fancy mall, casino, bars, resturants and just trendy and ultra cool people. It is a must see.

One for the ladies! Take plenty of flat comfortable shoes! I made the mistake of taking heels and my feet certainly paid for it! Lisbon isnt the flattest place in the world and practically everywhere is an uphill walk at some stage of the journey. The streets are also uneven and cobbled which makes walking in heels quite dangerous and painful! If you want to look glamerous for a night out get a cab- even for a short journey I ended up with blisters early on in my holiday which wasnt ideal for the rest of the trip :(

Lisbon Nightlife If you are considering Lisbon as a lads or stag weekend then I would suggest you reconsider! The town of Lisbon is nice enough by day and has some nice restaurants, however the nightlife is less desirable - unless you are gay! There are really only two options here for drinking/clubs etc The bairro alto and docks areas. Both of which are terrible! Bairro alto is a network of cobbled streets with small bars along each, you can expect to be asked if you want drugs every ten paces or so and basically not come across any women thoughout the whole area probably due to the sleazy rampant gay scene. Definately not worth a visit!
