Historical Traveller Reviews of Holiday Inn Lisbon Hotel
The hotel is OK
from CanecaStayed at the Holiday Inn in Lisbon for a couple of nights before heading out to the Algarve.
The check in was fine nothing special the desk clerks speak fine English.
The hotel room was a decent size but we ended up with 2 double beds so me and my gf slept in seperate beds while their since they didnt have any rooms with queen or king size beds available as was booked.
The hotel is located close to transit and lisbon has a great transit system the hotel is about 10 to 15 minute bus ride to the nightlife area, their isnt much around the hotel and if your out and about walking late just one block from the hotel their are prostitutes working the corner so unless this interests you not the best to see.
Its fine to stay at this hotel for the price and no bed bugs as i reviewed of some other hotels in lisbon on here.
Overall i cant complain did walk about freely in evenings and was close to most things by transit so was fine for a few nights the hotel itself doesnt have much to offer but a place to sleep.
obnoxious argumentative staff
from A TripAdvisor Memberwhen we arrived the staff insisted for 50 mins that we pay a supplement for the third person, despite it already being fully booked and paid for. we showed them on their own internet (for which we had to pay them three euros for access) the relevant details. still no action. they refused to talk to the online phone company's help number to clarify the situation.
I can appreciate a misunderstanding but the attitude the staff took was unprofessional and rude.
I would not send more custom their way.
Excellent weekend
from brettemmaThe rooms were spacious with two double beds, cable TV, tea/coffee, mini-bar and a good sized en-suite.
A nice touch was the small pool on the roof. The terrace provided good views over Lisbon and a place to relax in the sun.
The only critism that I have is the bar prices. Very expensive compared to local bars, so if you want to get a taste of the local cafe's and save some money don't drink in the hotel bar.
The hotel was excellent value for money and I would use it again if I returned.
Best deal in town
from A TripAdvisor MemberHotel is located 15 minutes from downtown (by transportations) near of one of the maiin avenue (Republica´s Av).
We had a room quite big for two persons and we enjoyed.
Comparing the price with other Lisbon´s hotel this is the best deal in town, for a double room we have paid 81eur (booked by the official site).
The staff is very helpfull and very professional.
For our surprise we have found our friends from US at the hotel, great short break we´ve had.
For sure I´ll stay there if i go to Lisbon again, excellent value and really good hotel.
Great visit to Lisbon
from A TripAdvisor MemberI´ve stayed at Holiday Inn on the 11th of April for 3 nights(I´ve travelled with a large group).
For our surprise we all stayed on the 2ºfloor of the Hotel, rooms were quiet big and spacious.
Breakfast is full of variety and very complete.
The hotel is located on the center of Lisbon(10m from downtown),the best way to get to downtown is by subway(3 stations / subway is open until 1 am)
We spend most of the time outside the hotel visiting the most interesting places(Belem,Fatima,Estorill, Cascais,Alfama,Bairro alto and Oriente)
On 3 days we have visited it all,of course we were always on the rush because we wanted to complete the program.
Hotel staff is very friendly and helpfull (they have recomend us a very good restaurant nearby).
I would recomend this hotel to large groups and big families.
In overall I´m very happy with my trip to Lisbon and staying at Holiday Inn just make the trip even better.
Excellent service
from A TripAdvisor MemberI checked in very early without any problem and I was greated with a true smile.
The staff is very kind and we can see why they work there. Always smiley and helpfull.
Lisbon is a great city, 2/3 days are enought to visit the touristic places(with the right directions).
Easy transportation nearby are a most value.
All my friends were happy and for sure I´ll stay there again in my next trip to Lisbon.
Good location,geat price
from A TripAdvisor MemberI booked a twin room (2 double beds),the room was spacious enough for us.Breakfast was good with plenty of variety.
The hotel is located 10m from the city center and since they have 2 subway station nearby it´s easyer to get where you want.
During night there is some street noise but since the room is sound isolation we had no problem.
Easy acess to Belem area with bus nº27 from the main avenue(5m walking distance),also easy acess to Sintra by train(station Entrecampos-10m walking).
In overall my family enjoyed the time we spent there, the staff is very helpfull and kind.we can say that the portuguese people are very frendly.
Next time that I visit Lisbon probably I will stay at Holiday-Inn Lisbon.
More than expected for a Holiday Inn
from A TripAdvisor MemberI booked online truh 6c.com site and I´ve got a better rate.Good service, helpfull staff and good rooms are the most value of this hotel.
Near from the city center and business area of Lisbon.
Recommended to business travelers and also tourists.
My stay there was great and for sure i´ll stay there again.
Tip:Best way to get there from the airport is by taxi (10€/12€ including luggage).
Great deal, good rooms and excellent staff
from A TripAdvisor MemberI booked in Holiday Inn because all my co-workers and friends went there. For my surprise they upgrade me to a Suite and what a room!Clean, spacious and of course a King size bed.
The hotel has a swiming pool and also a mini-gym that are located on the top floor. The pool was closed but the the mini gym was open. They also have a special ironing room, that´s very handy.
The hotel is located right on the Lisbon´s hearth, good restaurants near by,easy transports(Almeda and Saldana subway station also very near).
I have got a great deal because i booked truh internet, those kind of programes where you pay in advance the entire stay(be aware because after making the reservation no cancel or modifications are alowed).
It´s great because you get the lowest rate.
Hotel staff excellent, personalized, helpfull and very professional.
I also went to the tradional "fado" restaurant (recomended to music lovers). The food was great and the wine delicious.
Breakfast was included on my rate but i toke it anyway, plenty of vareity and quality.
Next time that I visit Lisbon for sure I´ll stay where I feel good and that is on Holiday Inn!
a good experience
from bickleyTop Local Tips for Lisbon
Institute of Port Don't miss the Insitute of Port up in the Barrio Alto.
Zoo and aquarium The zoo and aquarium were both excellent and very good value for money. We bought a card (valid for 30 days) from the Parque das Nacoes which included entry to the aquarium, a trip on the cable car, a ride on the Tchoo Tchoo train and entry to the Knowledge Pavilion of Living Science. The combined ticket cost just over 16 euros. I would think the Parque das Nacoes is perfect for about 9 years to 14. It's a great place to spend time. Besides the attractions mentioned there's shopping, water features, bike hire, a casino, restaurants, gardens, cinema etc.
Restaurants: Casa Da Mo Traditional Portuguese food, This is the best food I had in Lisbon. Good fish expecially the "bacalau" and the squib. It is very close to Rua Augusta and it is not very touristic.
