Top Local Tips for Lagos

Transfer Journey If you are with a travel agent make sure you have some water with you and maybe a small snack for the bus transfer as it's about an hour and half from Faro airport... sometimes longer depending on the amount of people you are dropping off enroute. It is well worth the wait though as Lagos is the Jewel in the Crown !

Worst meal in Portugal Avoid the Adega which is on the main thoroughfare. We made the mistake of going to this place for lunch one day. It resembles a transport cafe and we were fooled by the number of people going there,including coach parties. I do not exaggerate when I say the food was inedible. A footnote on the bill asked for suggestions on how to improve anything. I was very tempted to put 'Shoot The Cook'.

train to silves you will have to walk a good half hour from train station on a main road with no pavement . Station seems to stop in middle of no where. Best hire a car as our attempts for info at bus station proved fruitless. Having said that the train journey was an adventure in itself and Silves a great little spot for an afternoon out.
