Went to this hotel in January for the first time. Hotel fine, food excellent, staff could do enough for you, rooms large bathrooms and big beds rooms very big. spa seems fine did not use it much but other guests said it was good. Bathing even in January was fine. Madeira is a fine place for a holiday and I am returning to the cliff bay all going well next week and next January. The Cliff Bay is well worth its five stars. I would say made even five star deluxe.

Grandson John had completed his examinations and Gloriana and I brought him for a break. We were instantly recognised and greeted in the same welcoming fashion as before in all areas of the hotel.
The one to one scuba diving course gave John the break that he needed.
The choice of where and how to eat was up to the same high standard as before.
The drinks with the management enabled real discussion to take place with explanations such as use of the excess heat from the air conditioning.
A previous visit took in my birthday and on return to our room we found a cake and congratulatory note.
We normally never go back to the same place twice but we will going for time number?
Thank you for giving us the kind of time that we need.
