The rooms in Hotel Lido were clean, homey and tidy. The beds were made every morning when we left the room, the towels always fresh and the empty bottles even taken care of. The staff was polite, despite the rather poor English skills of most, and helpful. No complaints in that account, by all means.
But the food was, quite litterally, revolting. One should think that, upon dining in a four-star restaurant, one would not be served overboiled fish and potatoes with absolutely no taste, brown cauliflower, bananas with brown spots and soup with yesterday's left-overs in it.
In Hotel Lido, this is exactly what you get. We were staying for six days, and on the fourth day, the meals reached a new low - one I had not in my wildest dreams imagined. As if the fish dinner had not been bad enough.
