From the minute we arrived the staff were so nice, cheerful and helpful! They went out of their way to make our stay that extra bit special, including the waiting staff singing "Happy Birthday" to my sister while we enjoyed dinner. I'd like to thank everyone for making my holiday super, from Julieta the cleaning lady (who made fantastic bows and a swan out of our beach towels!) to Karl, Nelson, Nuno and all the waiting/bar staff - they were so friendly and I will definetly be booking another holiday there! Thanks! :)

Top Local Tips for Albufeira

For a relaxing holiday... We went at the beginning of May '09... it can get a bit chilly in the evening if the wind picks up - bring a cardi/pashmina/sweater; early in your holiday, eat at 'O Poeta' (about 3 shop fronts up from the bottom end of the strip) - if you leave it to the last night you'll be kicking yourself as you'll have denied youself the opportunity of going back; in the Old Town, admire the setting of 'Ruina' restaurant jutting out into the beach, then stroll on by and eat somewhere else...

rent a car and go! Worth hiring a car and exploring the inlands and west coast beaches. Different worlds! albufeira is nice for partying, but if you want to see what else the area has to offer go on your own. No traffic inland - which makes it a relaxing journey.
