The worst possible hotel I have ever stayed in.Definitely Not a 3 star - No sleep for first night may as well been at disco with the party animals till 6.Poolside bar served cold food and then staff tutted when we complained. It definitley needs a complete makeover - we had to move to one of their apartments as the noise was so bad on the street side and all the other rooms were full. The apartments would def not pass any health and safety standards and when my husbad complained the cleaner told him she had cleaned but it was very very old ! Poor choice at meal times and everything seemed like it used to when we first went on holiday twenty five years ago !
I would tell anyone not to go there especially at this time of year unless you are prepared to party from morning till night, not eat any hotel food and stagger in to a made up bed once in a while during your holiday.

Hotel with charm and good staff

Enjoyed the charm of the hotel in February, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The public spaces were comfortable and inviting. The bedroom overlooking the poolside were pleasant although the bathroom need updating. The linen was changed often and the rooms were clean. The food was buffet style and good value for the cost of the holiday package. We had previouly visited the hotel many years ago and would not agree with some bad reviews written. However I would say the Oura Beach area has been completely spoilt from being charming lively base to an overcommercial tacky place with far too bars and clubs. It is what happened to the Spanish Costas, I definitely would only revisit in the winter and not after Easter and it would be impossible to sleep night or day and would be completely overcrowded.

Not for families with small children

The hotel is situated bang in the middle of the very busy/noisy strip so do not accept a front facing room, ask for a pool view - this way you stand some chance of getting to sleep. The staff seem somewhat overworked.

Noisiest Hotel Ever

The hotel is situated right in the middle of what is known as 'the strip'. We had a room overlooking the carpark, which was opposite the main street where noisy discos and bars stay open until about 3 a.m. The crowds from these discos and bars don't seem to disperse sometimes until 5 - 6 a.m. If you do book this hotel, I would recommend requesting a poolside room, you may get some sleep then.

Top Local Tips for Albufeira

Visit Caldas da Monchique if you have a car after a few days take all your empty water bottles -having saved them.. to the mountain spring village called cladas da monchique. This is a great place to have a lunch or take a picnic and sit in the tranquil cool and spiritually cleansing environment. Water trickles everywhere from the springs. You can fill your bottles at the Fountain of love from a pipe thereby saving you the need to pay any more for water. We went on a our first vist and have now been back 4 times. It can be combined with a trip to the highest part of the Algarve Foia several hundred metres higher. Thereafter a trip down small roads takes you out to the west coast... enjoyFor shopping for self caterers try Modelo and Lidl both ridiculously cheap for staples and things frown in portugal

TERRIBLE AVOID THE HOTEL IS A HAZZARD

Hotels Find a hotel well away from the very noisy "STRIP" area.
