Hotel California is according to me a standard 3 star Hotel. The location is the best thing of the Hotel even if during the night we had to close the windows , we had a room with view but even on the city center street with pubs and restaurants . They play live music till in the morning. We had conditioned air. There was no minibar and no hairdryer in the room and this in a holiday Hotel at the beach during summertime is really a pitty. Our water was always warm .. of course they have a bar and a restaurant in the Hotel. The hairdryer is available at the reception but it is not the same like to have it in the room, if you forget to pick it up and you are in the bathroom it is a risk to wash your hair every day. Cleaness : even here we had some problems. The staff is ok. Next time in Albuferia I will try a 4 star Hotel just to compare.

We have just returned from a short break in the Hotel California, Albufeira. The hotel was everything we were hoping for and a little more. Very central location giving quick easy access to the beautiful sandy fishermans beach. The central location also means that heading out for dinner and a few drinks is simplicity itself. The old town central area is a bit on the noisy side and the party last until quite late in the evening but we found with the excellent double glazed patio doors closed and the air conditioning humming softly away at night that the noise from the street didn't give us any trouble at all. The roof-top pool, sun deck and snack-bar area are also excellent and a perfect relaxed sun trap. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful in a easy natural manner. On the whole we had a great break on the Algarve and this was complimented by our stay in the Hotel California. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
