Still a Good Hotel but maybe a revamp needed ?
Just returned from my third stay at the Baia Grande and once again I had a great stay. The general condition of the hotel is good and the rooms large and clean. The breakfast is fine as long as you don't leave until the last minute and the piano bar, although very hot, was fine. Just one small thing is that after staying there for the previous two years, I noticed that certain areas, especially the pool, are in need of repair and / or painting. I think a small revamp which definitely would include the pool floor is required sooner rather than later.

More like a 5* star hotel. Staff very friendly with excellent service
An excellent Hotel with very friendly staff. Location not as close to Albufeira as we would have liked. Great Hotel for couples wanting a quiet location.

Quality, Quality, Quality !!
As a first time visitor to the Algarve and indeed Portugal, it is with pleasure that I can strongly recommend the Hotel Baia Grande. The hotel is situated about 3km outside of Albufeira in a very small village called Sesmarias. The hotel runs a reasonably frequent free Shuttle Bus service into the town and also to local beaches which are only 5 Mins away. If you miss the free bus then a taxi into Albufeira Old Town is around 5-6 Euro's and the hotel reception will organise these taxi's for you for just 50 cents. The standard of the hotel from design to decor to cleanliness is nothing short of Superb. The pool area is large, the pool clean (but cold !!) and the sunbeds not too difficult to get hold of, also the poolside bar serves a decent range of Drinks and Snacks at pretty reasonable prices for a hotel.
