Historical Traveller Reviews of Marriott Warsaw Hotel

Well run hotel

from Tobias-UK
Spent 5 nights at the hotel with my family and father. An excellent hotel, a very convenient location with very friendly English speaking staff. Several languages are spoken.

My only real complaint is the cost of the drinks in the bars - certainly the most expensive I've found in Poland by far.

Excellent, spacious rooms excellent breakfasts

The Marriott is a large Ultra modern looking tower block next to the Palace of Culture. Stayed on business for two nights in late October. I rate this hotel very highly. The room was clean, of good size with a large bed, I had 6 pillows to myself. The breakfast served was by far the best I have had in all my trips through Eastern Europe. The breakfast was excellent, I would easily say the best I have had on any trip abroad. The hotel even provided an early morning fully cooked breakfast at 5.30am, excellent considering they dont normally serve until 6.00am.
Reception staff very efficient. Will definately stay here again!
A bonus too is the excellent views across Central Warsaw

Great Deal

We stayed for 2 nights at the Warzawa Mariott in the 37th floor.

Great view, great service, great Breakfast buffet...just great.

The price was also very reasonalbe since we had a special offer. Anytime again!

Good Hotel, but beware of belongings

from Heng
I had my wallet taken from my jacket that was on the back of my chair in the lobby cafe of the Marriot. I was conveniently sitting in a place where their many cameras were not watching.

The beds are too soft and too high.

Good location though.

A beautifully redone (within the last year we were told) hotel. We had booked a standard nonsmoking room but ended up with a large corner room on the 39th floor. USD170 including tax but excluding breakfast. The room was very large and nicely furnished with big windows in the bedroom and bathroom. No tall buildings are very close so the view was terrific. Very clean, good bed and a large bathroom with separate shower and tub. The breakfast buffet was expensive (about $60 for two) but the quantity and quality was among the best we've seen. If you eat this breakfast don't even think about lunch! The staff was helpful and charming. The shuttle to and from the airport (22 zlotys or 6 Euros each way) is a convenient service; they have a desk in the arrivals hall in the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

very convenient, very modern

I stayed there after the reviews here. The service was great and the rooms were great. The conceirge was great.

The pool and jacuzzi were closed for 4 days Aug. 12-Aug. 15th. We stayed here because we wanted to use them. They did not tell us when we checked in and they would not adjust our bill. I thought this rather shabby.

I would go to a more exciting, old-fashioned tea room. The Hotel Bristol and Hotel Polonia (two blocks away) are classic and the same price. Don't miss the bar at the Hotel Bristol.

You can take the 175 bus from the airport to the hotel and on to the old town. They run every 10 minutes. Less than 50 Euro cents for each ride.

Take the trains and tram everywhere. The tram to the Commie market at the football stadium is great. 12,000 stalls. Everything from rifle scopes to hair clips.

There is a wonderful restaurant. Karl Scheller's in the Hotel Rialto (5 blocks by foot). Outstanding cuisine. 3 courses each (2 of us) (borsch, duck, and then sabayon with wild berries) plus a great bottle of Australian wine about 75 Euros. Art deco. Beautiful. Fabulous service.

Try all the different types of pierogis. The best and most expensive are with wild mushrooms.

Excellent Hotel

Excellent hotel, superb location and staff very helpful all the time!
Upgraded to business class room with access to lounge excellent. Help with baggage to main railway station on day of departureand help on board the train. Arriving at the weekend to get the great rates and speaking Polish were bonuses too!!

Very nice staff

This is a great Marriott. The breakfast was really good. The room was everything you'd expect from a Marriott. The location is good. It is right across from the train station. They have their own taxis to take you where you want to go and then you can charge it to your room (more Reward points). It's easy to hop on the public transportation, which picks up right in front of the hotel, and ride it to Old Town. The only bad thing I can say is we popped into the Champions restaurant right there because we weren't in the mood to look for food, and it was not as good as some of the others I've been to. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. The best part of the hotel was the staff. On the day we were leaving, we mentioned we were going to catch the train to Krakow. My friend & I (fitting the stereotype of women packing too much) were a little nervous about getting across to the train station because we had 2 big bags and 2 little bags. One of the bellmen carried our big bags and led us to the platform we needed to be on to go to Krakow. He even waited while I bought a t-shirt in the train station. When we got to our platform, he explained everything to us that we needed for the train travel, since it was our first time in Poland. Now that is service!

Warsaw Marriott- The greatest

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Warsaw Marriott is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We were on the 3lst floor and the views were magnificent with glorious sunsets.
Breakfast buffet was the best we have seen anywhere in the world. We also partook of the Sunday brunch which appeared expensive, but when you took in to account the bottomless glasses of Champagne and the unbelievable range of dishes available, including some magnificent desserts, it was worth every zloty. We took about three hours to recover.
Shower leakage was a bit of a nuisance, but my husbands ingenuity in jamming the shower screen in place overcame the problem after the first day. Warsaw was a great place, and this hotel has to be "the" place to stay.

Good hotel, bad bathrooms

from xsauth
I'm fully agree with one of the reviewers below complaining about horrible bathroom - on overally very good hotel background these plastic doors for shower cabin looks just extremely irritating! They never closed tightly, so once I'm took a shower, the bathroom ground was full of water.. and that's not accidently, but all the time.
Another complaint - although bathroom looks very nicely with all these marbles etc, but if you take a look bit deeper, you will find that dust is everywhere except most visible front faces.. Meaning that cleanings are quite shallow one.
From other side - very good breakfast, really great. Convinient location and nicely furnitured room. Service is great too.

Top Local Tips for Warsaw

Bar crawl If you want a good night out in Warsaw go to Foksal 19 for food and cocktails, then get a taxi to the Ice bar, another taxi onto Paparrazi, then walk around the corner to Klubokawania (if u can find it!).

In the Thick of It The place to be because everything is around you.

Jewish Museum We went to the Jewish Museum which had an exhibition on the Warsaw Ghetto. It made a lasting impression on us and I would really recommend taking some time to reflect on this part of the history. We also visited a street called Prozna, the last remaining ghetto-street. Watch "The Pianist" after you've been there.
