I travel to Warsaw frequently and the Sobieski has become my favorite hotel. Convenient location and outstanding service.

I have stayed here twice; on the first occasion our reservation was wrong, on the second it was lost; the reservation staff are hopeless. Avoid the web site, the rates quoted are higher than those available and the reservation confirmation is meaningless; furthermore, the hotels facilities are misrepresented. Service is generally poor, particularly in the bar. Rooms are bland and unwelcoming. Double beds are NOT available, despite the hotel's claim to the contrary. One both occasions I was overcharged; also beware being quoted rates in Euros but being charged in Zlotys!

Top Local Tips for Warsaw

The Belevedere Restaurant It is a must. Exquiste food in exquisite surroundings. In summer eat outside in the Orangery, with a glass of chilled chablis and peacocks outside it's an unmissable experience

Beware Taxi "Surcharge" Taxi cab drivers in Poland will try to charge extra for transporting your luggage. They do not mention this up front but instead simply add an extra 5-10 PLN onto the bill at the end. Do not agree to pay it!

Castle, Old Town and Novy Swiat Stay as close to Novy Swiat as possible at a decent rate. The really good 4 and 5 star hotels compete and so you can get rates around 100 Euros or less sometimes if you shop.
