Rickshaw's Make sure you have a ride in the city's rickshaw's. More expensive than a taxi but a great experience.
Train Lodz Fabryczna to Warsaw Centrale is 2 hours and about £5 1 way and the service runs every hour. I have done this twice and the trains ran on time. The very frequent 175 bus runs from Warsaw airport to the old town via Warsaw Centrale and you pay when you board. Although rail travel is probably not entirely safe from my experience this has to be less dangerous than the white knuckle ride you will experience in many of the taxis as half the taxi journey is on single carriageway roads with deceptive undulations and a host of side turnings.
Manufakura shopping complex. Make sure you visit the manufaktura shopping complex especially in the summer when the weather is excellent as the atmosphere is very good as you can sit outside and have a drink or a meal. The shops are very good and also there is always entertaiment going on also worth visiting the History of Lodz museum which is situated near the main entrance to the Manufaktura complex.
