Top Local Tips for Krakow

Excursions If I can only give one tip to fellow travellers it would be to make your own way to sites such as Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The excursions seem to be very expensive yet public transport is good and cheap.

Validation of Tickets Ensure tickets are validated for each journey (machines on board) otherwise you can be fined for fare dodging.

Restaurants The restaurants were cheap, do not go to the Heineken place in the middle of the square...very bad service, but there is a Brasilian restaurant called Ipanema on St. Thomas street which is tacky but good, and another restaurant called Del Papa which was excellent also on the same street.
