Copernicus Hotel The staff are amazing and its worth its weight in gold for the location

Getting started sightseeing It is a good idea to take one of the small "golf cart" type vehilces and discuss which tour you want to take with the driver. We were offered three alternatives and hoose the longer. It was worth the extra money and he stopped when we showed interest in something unlike the open topped bus with a se route.

Krakow sights St Mary's Basilica on the main Market Square has a magnificent carved wooden alter piece. When we visited in July, at noon, the alter piece (a giant book) was opened to reveal the interior carvings. It was very special. Also on the hour, the trumpeter plays a cut off piece in memory of a warning against the Tartars. We also enjoyed the Collegium Maius of Jagellonian University -- with its medieval history as an university and scientific instruments back to Copernicus. It has a clock (a procession of professors) which chimes every two hours (11am when we visited).
