Top Local Tips for Katowice

Mad taxi drivers Try to avoid the taxis that line up outside the hotels and airports. They overcharge foreigners and the two that we had, frightened the sh*t out of us with their driving. Antics included overtaking when cars were coming the other way, making a phone call while negotiating a hair pin bend at break neck speed, and changing gear, steering and indicating with one hand so he could talk on the phone. Scary, scary, scary. Public transport was far, far better.
