Top Local Tips for Oslo
Enjoyed Bagatelle Wonderful seafood tasting menu, but be prepared to open your wallet. Dinner for 2 with wines cost over NOK 4,500. Menu price of the tasting menu was 1250 per person (not including VAT).
Oslo to Bergen If you have the time, take the Oslo to Myradal train, the Flam train, and then the Flam to Bergen Fjord boat. It's stunning. Then, grab some pizza in Bergen, book the night train back to Oslo. Book a sleeper car. You're back in Olso by 8:00 a.m. the next morning. (Leave your luggage at your Oslo hotel.)
Not cheap taxis We arrived at Torp via Ryan Air and took the Torp Express £60 per couple to center of Oslo. We got a taxi to our hotel which cost about £11 - could have walked the distance. Get an Oslo Pass then you have free travel on all trains, trams and buses - even gets you into museaums and attractions for free. (Some are not worth the £8 enterance otherwise...)

Stayed here with family for two nights for a short pre Xmas break. This hotel has it all - best breakfast EVER (part of the deal), gorgeous room - as clean as a whistle, Staff are as friendly and helpful as they are beautiful (!).
Convenient for EVERYTHING in the fantastic (but VERY expensive!) City of Oslo.
However, we ordered room service one night for the whole family. Came to about £77.00 GBP - BUT, real gourmet food, served in style. Almost like having a fabulous meal for four in a very exclusive restaurant (our rooms!).
Really great - best we've ever stayed in. Don't even think about staying anywhere else in the beautiful (freezing!) city of Oslo.
