There may be "better" and more expensive hotels in Bergen, but none beats the location. It is right there where you'll want it to be - right on the Torvalmenningen (the Fish Market) with breathtaking view of the harbour and the Bryggen - the famous medieval Hansa merchant houses. The hotel itself dates back to the 1920's, but is today a very attractive upper tourist class with all neccessary facilities. The rates are very reasonable with weekend offers. The rooms are very comfortable, however some are a bit overfurnished/smallish. Ask for a harbour view room. The bathrooms are very nice, extremely clean and inviting. The included breakfast is very good and extensive - no wonder that the hotel always seems to be fully booked! I have stayed there twice, and will certainly come back.
