I would like to thank the Hotel Huis Ter Veen for our recent stay at their establishment.
The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English - just as well as my Dutch is very poor :-)

Breakfast was also very nice and we both enjoyed everything about our stay.
Room costs were very reasonable and I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

We stayed three nights at Huis ter Veen and enjoyed the stay very much. The hotel is in a small lake-side town near the Tulip fields, Keukenhof, Leiden, and close enough for an easy Sunday drive to Amsterdam. The rooms were clean and well furnished. We had two: one was spacious with a writing desk and the other was smaller, but fit our need very well. The beds, linens, etc. were very nice. The owners/employees were very friendly and informative about the area. Breakfasts (not included in the room rate) were well worth the price and featured an assortment of meats, cheese, breads, eggs, and coffee, juice, cereal, etc. The house itself if lovely (see their online brochure). Communication about our reservation was easy via email (no online registration, but the owners responded promptly to all our questions). If you have a car an are staying in the area, this is a great small hotel to try. It is also accessible by bus (and train), though we can't speak to how easy that is to manage. For the price, this hotel is hard to beat. There were also plenty of restaurant options in the area, even though half of our party was vegetarian, so restaurant choices can be limited.
