I am renting an apartment nearby while on a short-term business assignment and have eaten at Hotel Van Ham, though I haven't stayed there. This is a very traditional place on the Van Coothplein, a pedestrian square between the major "Grote Markt" and "Ginnekenweg" districts in Breda.
During April and May, the Van Ham serves many Asparagus specialties, including soups, salads, and the unique Dutch entree that includes asparagus, hard-boiled eggs and ham.
Service is good-humored, at least bi-lingual (I only speak English), and for the Netherlands, comparatively efficient. The hotel sponsored some entertainment during the Queen's Birthday celebration, and one of the waiters was a featured performer.
