We were asked to pay all 4 nights immediately upon arrival.
The first morning, we asked to check out at 9h30 because we wanted to leave. We were told that the policy was no cancellation no refund. I argued and complained but only the last night was reimbursed. We paid 416 euros and got back 85. The manager would not talk to me and the guy in charge was mean.
This is the typical place you book on the internet and find yourself tied to a "contract" never signed.
Please go somewhere else; there are so many better places!

Top Local Tips for Amsterdam
Watch Out For The Pushbikes!!!!!!!!1 Just a quick warning, these Amsterdammers are crazy on pushbikes, almost everyone travels on one and hardly any of them pay attention to red lights or crossings! So if you are feeling a tad dissorientated for any reason (of which there may be a number if you try the local delicacies!), BEWARE THE PUSHBIKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
avoid taxis, ride a bike Having lived in NY, Washington, and Chicago, and traveling to various cities for fun and business, I take a lot of taxis. But I have never felt so ripped off as sitting in the back of a taxi in Amsterdam taking us in an enormous circle to get to the train station. Lesson learned. But we rode our borrowed bicycles for five days which was a blast - it is so easy to get around.
Getting around Amseterdam Public transportation is great in Amsterdam. I suggest you purchase a Strippenkart (a ticket strip) to use for the buses and trams around town. It will save you about 1/2 price and is more convenient than trying to find the money every time. The attendant at the back of the tram will stamp it for you based on how far you plan to ride. These can be purchased at tobacco shops around town or at the tourist office near the train station. Also, there is a Canal Boat tour (the Canal Bus) which alows you to get on-get off the boat at different locations throughout the city. This is great for those days when you feel that you have walked enough. The ticket is good until noon the following day.

Good things were: Friendly staff, fair prices, it's in the middle of a neighbourhood were all the locals live so you get a good impression of living in Amsterdam.
Negative things were: no tv-remote controller, no radio in the room, Can hear peolple walking up the stairs or showering. Stairs are really post. The higher you have a room the hotter is gets, it's weird but it started getting really hot upstairs?
