The hotel is in a quiet part of Amsterdam, but not too far out of the centre. It is an old large 19th terrace house converted into a hotel. The breakfast was ok, the rroms are nicely furnished. I had the following problems :
1) The first room we got was miniscule and not at all what we wanted, with two single beds rather than one double - even though I'd booked weeks in advance.
2) The rooms weren't sound-proofed: the conversions looked nice but actually were a bit tacky and cheap - thin walls.
3) The staff were obviously students - they were ok but the hotel didn't exude professionalism. That's ok but not for the price they were charging. I got the impression that the owners were minting it.
4) I really object to the fact that I couldn't get a cup of coffee at 11.30pm because the staff memeber had 'switched the machine off'. That really is not good enough.
5) I got the impression that staff took guests a bit for granted. E.g carrying out building repairs near you when you're......
