Fantastic
from izzywizz
Found this hotel by chance on a website, and encouraged by trip adviser reviews stayed for three nights at the end of feb. It's on a nice quiet street (which also has houses based on different countries
which is quite cool) and is close to the centre so we just walked everywhere despite the rain. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was a nice size, well laid out, clean and with a fab bathroom with jacuzzi bath and downpour shower. Only fault I could find is they forgot to charge us hotel tax, so receive a very apologetic phone call when we got home asking if we minded them adding £10 to the bill. Will definately stay there again.

Fab Hotel!

My husband & I stayed at the hotel with some friends for three nights. After having searched the internet stumbled across this hotel. Am pleased I did! The location is great with some amazing designer shopping just behind & really close to all the tourist attractions & restaurants.
The hotel is nicely decorated & they have thought of everything in the rooms with great coffee makers (essential for morning recoveries!). We booked a suite which was a bit more expensive but well worth it with a huge square hot tub & 3 flat screens tvs.
The staff are all super friendly (especially behind the bar). They do seem to push certain restaurants when asked for recommendations and these were quite pricey. There are loads of much cheaper alternatives 5 mins from the hotel and everywhere we ate was good value.
Would recommend Anne Frank's house and a boat trip to see lots of the town and will definately be staying at this hotel again as it is quicker to get to Amsterdam than London for great shopping!

Geat hotel near everything

We stayed a weekend in this hotel in March. It is a great boutique hotel in a quiet street but near the center. Within 5 minutes walk you're on the Leidseplein and near the shoppingarea. Museums are nearby and otherwise you can take one of the many trams or busses.
The hotel has a very modern but warm interior. Our room was great with a seating area, a great bed and a beautiful bathroom with jacuzzi and rainshower. The minibar has lots of nice things but is quite expensive.
We didn't have breakfast or dinner in the hotel.
There's a good pizzeria "O sole Mio" on the second street to your right on the Leidseplein. The owners are very friendly and it isn't packed with tourists. The locals like to eat here.
I would definitely recommend it if you're staying in Amsterdam but try to find a good rate on the internet!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Roemer for valatines this year (it was a surprise). Read the reviews before I booked, but still wasn't too sure what to expect.
Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in to be honest! Located in a quite residential area near to the Leidesplein, not far from the bars, restaraunt's and cafe's. Brilliant staff, bar guy was very friendly and helful too! As for the decor and rooms etc....It was quite simply something else, get those 5 stars out!! Will deffinately be going back there when we return to the Dam!

Fantastic hotel perfect location

We visited Amsterdam for a 5 day sight seeing trip and cannot praise this hotel enough. We stayed room only so ate breakfast in town however we did find breakfast places quite hard to find and prices were not cheap but the quality of the food in the city is very good. Its cheap and easy to get from the airport to the central station then you can just get a tram to the hotel.
Rooms are very clean with lots of extras that make it more than special - jacuzzi bath, plasma, ipod docking station etc. Location cannot be faltered very close to shops, bars but not noisy at night. If I come back to this city I would definately stay at this hotel again.

Fantastic Stay at the Roemer!!

we have just just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel & i can't praise the hotel enough! The staff were very helpful & relaxed, nothing was to much bother for them. There are so many cool bars & restuarants to hang out in especailly in the jordaan & spui areas.....if you like cool hangouts try "Odean" bar, restuarant & club(near flower market),cafecox plays chilled out dance tunes, lux bar(v small & busy!!)...jimmy woos club(hard to get in,[*****} on the door!)...& if you prefer a more romantic evening try Proeverij 274 restuarant([--])The hotel is stylish, modern & i loved both the rainfall shower & jacuzzi bath,i would love to stay there again!!..Don't bother with the 20 euro breakfast as there are so many places that do a great choice near the hotel. Also if you have a few quid the shops behind the hotel(towards the van gogh museum)sell versace, armani etc...the list is endless.ENJOY YOUR STAY!!
Superb hotel!

Me and my Partner stayed here in january,
We only stayed here by mistake.
We originally booke to stay in the sister hotel, hotel vondel which is just around the corner. When we arrived at the sister hotel the guy in the reception honestly told that they had over booked. They offered a smaller room or told us about his hotel.
We was a bit suspicious at first until he told us about what we would get. Jacouzi bath, large rain type shower and 2 plasma tv's (1 in the bathroom) and dvd in room.
OK. We took it and it was FANTASTIC!
This is the best hotel we have stayed in Amsterdam.
Staff there will bend over backwards to help you in anyway.
Bit on the pricey side but Would definatly stay there again!
I personal would say that this hotel is not a 4 star, More like a 5 star!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights from 13th February. We arrived at the hotel at 2pm and although the room wasn't ready, we took this as an opportunity to explore the immediate surroundings, which includes the Leidseplein.
On our return we were offered a complimentary drink and then taken to our room. And what a room it was! Ground floor, massive double bed, jazuzzi, walk-in shower and Plasma TVs. A real bargain for the price paid.
The staff were all very friendly, even searching the internet to help us find a quality restaurant. If I ever find myself in Amsterdam again, I'll be staying at the Hotel Roemer!

So Luxurious!
from ROISIN1994
Stayed for 3 great nights in this beautiful hotel. I can't say anything negative about this hotel, has to be the nicest I've ever stayed in. It was so clean with very modern calm colours which wouldn't normally be my taste but I loved them here. The rooms were so luxurious and the jacuzzi was huge! No dirty grouting or dirty shower curtains which really put me off some hotels! Great barman who recommended good restaurants to us, really helpful and pleasant staff. Breakfast was lovely too. Would definitely stay there again.
Fantastic hotel and location!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the superb boutique Hotel Roemer. On arrival had welcome drink in the pretty cosy bar area felt very friendly. Guided to our room and found we had been upgraded to a junior suite as it was a birthday celebration!
What a room biggest bed ever (7 feet wide) 2 flat screen tv's in living/bedroom area plus 1 in the bathroom along with big jacuzzi bath and rain shower we were blown away with the high standards and the excellent staff, would deffinately return to this excellent modern hotel.

Top Local Tips for Amsterdam
Bike Get one of those great bikes from the hotel and explore... Even Amsterdam is under a big renovation, on your bike you will get around fast and it's so much fun!
The Trams! Buy a 24/48/72 hour tram pass, this gets you any where you want on the trams and busses. The number 5 tram has no rear conductor, so if your brave you dont have to pay, naughty :-) !!
Canal bus Try the hop on/off canal bus for viewing the city. It covers most of the areas with different routes and cost us 18 euros each for 24 hours and is valid until noon the following day. Not bad value by Amsterdam standards.
