Don’t stay at this hotel! We booked in at the last minute because it was cheap. We were put in the smallest room possible. The bed was crap and sunk in the middle. It was dirty. It smelt bad. It was noisy. The owner was unfriendly. And we left first thing the next day. Not worth the money at all! I don’t think the information staff at Shipol Airport should send anyone there.

4 lads in Amsterdam for fun booked in because it was cheap and available, like the 42 stone hookers on offer for the same kind of nightly rate. This hotel was downlow and dirty but came with delicious FREE coffee as part of the package.... The owner looked distinctly like a cross between ratboy and freddy mercury, and charges £25 per can from the fridge in your room be warned! Also worth a mention is the crusty sock left under one of the mattresses which was included FREE.... Sharing toilets with dirty mac merchants wasn't really the highlight of the trip either!

Made my life hell for the next year

I stayed in the Rainbow Palace Hotel for a little over a week while I was in Amsterdam with my brothers. While we were there, it was actually okay- we had a small room with its own shower, and 3 separate beds for each of us. For $60 for 3 people per night, you can't really expect THAT much. I suppose the only down point was the tram that you could hear at all hours of the night. What we didn't notice were all the bugs in our room, which we later found out were bed bugs. We felt a little itchy while we were there, but since we had never seen bed bugs before, it didn't really click in our heads what we were dealing with. They ended up coming home in our suitcases, and coming to my dorm with me at college. This led to a huge infestation of bed bugs in my entire dorm. Bed bugs are ridiculously hard to get rid of, and I strongly recommend never staying in the Rainbow Palace Hotel. It's cheap, but definitely still not worth it.

We were 5 on a very small room just enough for 2! It was very noisy because on a street with high traffic, and we had no hot water the 3 days stay because a breakdown from the system and we paid 50€ per day per person!! A very bad adventure!

I had a big RAT under my bed I herd it running about plus my mate come across 1 on them steep stairs. And in the BAR the drinks were disgraceful for 2 euro a time waste of money. I woke up 1 morning and there was a shit in the 1 of the 2 toilet and just left there. I want a refund I will not be coming back to this hotel, I would rather go next-door to DIANNA.

Bed Bug Infestation!!!

Beware, my room was infested with BED BUGS!! I awoke around 2am to find bed bugs hiding just out of sight all over my bed. And boy did they have a feast!! I am now covered with itchy sores all over my body. Stay away from the Rainbow Palace! And if you have stayed there before you may have brought some travelers home with you, get an inspection. Oh and the Manager's response was that I left the window open and the bugs came in from outside. Laughable considering the room was hotter than hell, and bed bugs don't live outside.

Really poor service

At a 100e per nite for a room the size of a shoebox with two single beds that take up the size of the room is very poor. This is my third year here and my worst of all, with a flight of stairs which make u ill as you look up when u open the door. service which leaves a lot to be desired I rate this hotel as really really really bad value for money and a bad choice for someone who is going to Amsterdam soon or in the near future

The room was small but had a lovely Xmas tree, a TV, and was really warm. The owner was friendly and helpful. The stairs were a nightmare, especially after a night out!!

You get what you pay for, the staff where very friendly, the rooms where small and cramped and reminded me of fawlty towers with the decor, but the worst thing was the stairs 3 flights of everest mountain climbing when you are drunk!!!!
