Definitely get the travel / museum card Worth it's weight in gold. Brilliant for when you spend the first few days lost and need to keep hopping on and off the trams and everything we went to (except Anne Frank's house) was free with the card. Perfect

A Really Good restaurant Van Kerkwijk, Nes street. This is a small family run restaurant used by locals and the food is fantastic! Near the Monument in Dam Square there's a store on the corner that has loads of wooden clogs hanging from the ceiling. Nes is the street going off Dam from there. Don't be put off when you look down that street as it looks as thought there's nothing much there, but van Kerkwijk is only a few yards down on the left.
