Loved the valentine special offerings
from A TripAdvisor MemberExcellent hotel

from A TripAdvisor MemberNice. Very nice.
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe location is unbeatable. The train station, Dam Square and Anne Frank House are all just a short walk away. The hotel also offers a limo service if you want to take a day trip to one of the outlying towns.
The hotel can be a bit of a maze when you first get there, though.
Finding the dining room the first time can be trying, but you'll get the hang of it. Breakfast buffet is great.
The Pulitzer is a little expensive for most of us, but if you're looking for a bit of a splurge in one of the planet's coolest cities, give them a try.
Nice Idea but ........
from GAN_tripBe warned about breakfast - they insist on providing an old juicer for fresh orange juice. They supply miniscule orange halfs (six needed for a glass) and the machine makes an infernal racket. Complained and you guessed it - they sat me next to it on the second day :-) I had to move. Trivial you may think? but I was just very annoyed with the lack of concern.
Staff were good. Location very good but on reflection most of old Amsterdam is walkable so location not as impotant as I thought
Superb
from A TripAdvisor MemberGREAT experience.

from A TripAdvisor MemberA Very Pleasant Stay
from A TripAdvisor Member...Rooms Nice Enough But no matter. Our Executive Double on the 3rd floor, though small by US standards, had large windows overlooking the center garden and was nice and quiet. The bathroom, though tiny, was well equipped and luxurious. The only real disappointment was a rather lumpy mattress.
...Family-Friendly As a couple with a young child (toddler) in tow, we appreciated the ample and uncrowded public spaces more than the room itself. There are several interconnected outdoor spaces as well as a few indoor sitting areas, all of which felt casual and welcoming.
...Food The food was expensive but reasonably good. We had breakfast at Pulitzer's every day during our stay and found the service pleasant and efficient. We broke down and ordered room service one night upon a particularly late return home from sightseeing. The service was quick and the food was tasty.
Bottom Line: Refined, yet casual atmosphere with great service and nice location. I would recommend the Pulitzer to others and would stay there again myself.
Small room, poor service
from Si_MealorHowever, when we were shown our room it was a tiny, tiny dark box on the ground floor with a view of a concrete courtyard. Considering the rates the Pulitzer was charging my wife and I were staggered and went to complain. We were shown another room on the first floor - a smoking room - and were then shown another box, this time foul-smelling.
Upgrade time, and we paid a further 30 euros for an 'executive' room.
We were shown into this room but it hadn't been cleaned properly (it was 4.30 pm), and so we had to wait in the bar in the garden. Fair enough, I suppose, so far. I was told it would be cleaned in 15 mins.
Forty minutes later I went to check at reception and surprise surprise housekeeping hadn't been informed that they had to do anything at all.
Another wasted 1/2 hour later we were told that the room was ready.
Surprise surprise - our bags had been left downstairs when we got there. Fantastic service, eh? The room was admittedly larger, with a canal view, but still not that good for the money. We didn't dare risk room service for the whole trip. Breakfast is OK - not that hot - with an unreliable selection of items, depending on whether the chef could be bothered I'd expect. Good location but rooms more in keeping with budget hotels rather than so-called 'luxury' establishments. Decor a little tired.

Fab Thai food... We stumbled upon a Thai Restaurant by chance called Krua Thai which was superb. Not much from the outside but the food was superb and the service is like nothing I have ever experienced. They anticipated your needs so well we wondered if they could lip read! Its located at Spuistraat 90a, 1012 Amsterdam... Hope you enjoy it too!
Van Gogh Museum. The Van Gogh Museum has the finest collection of Van Gogh paintings and many other masterpieces by his acquaintances. It is roomy and well laid out although probably much busier at the weekend.
