Top Local Tips for Amsterdam

First time? If it's your first time in Amsterdam - get a taxi from the airport, because you may well get lost! However, getting back is easy - tram to Centraal Station, train to the airport - easy once you've wandered the streets a bit!

Tram Use tram 4 from Central station to the hotel. Get off at Prinsengracht. Almost in front of the hotel.

Buying souvenirs Before you buy anything in Amsterdam (be it clothing, souvenirs, food) make sure to stop by a street market (Albert Cuypstraat or Waterlooplein Markt) I found cheese, clogs, clothes and souvenirs for almost half price or less than what the stores were charging for the same.
