OK hotel, bad business practices

The France Hotel engages in bad business practices. When I arrived with my Expedia reservation (fully paid), the clerk informed me that they had over booked and there was no room available for me. He said they had arranged for a room at another hotel they were affiliated with. While the France looked fairly nice, the hotel they rebooked me in was in the heart of the Red Light district and was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The bedroom was tiny, the shared shower in the hall had no hot water and only a trickle of cold, and to top it off, the Hotel France did not change my room charge, so I paid the highest rate in Amsterdam and was put in a dump. Rooms in Amsterdam that night were almost non existent so I had no options and the Hotel France took advantage of me.
