I originally booked a hostel for me and my two travel partners, but a health problem (epilepsy) made us decide to go with a place that had a private room. Hotel Flipper had a triple room and the difference in cost turned out to only be $16 per night more than the hostel for the three of us.
The hotel is basic, but clean, comfortable beds and bedding, TV, private bathroom with shower and a friendly staff.
The location is not in the city center but one short tram ride (on tram #4) takes you to the tourist attractions in six minutes- I timed it. The trams are very easy to use and there is a tram stop close to Hotel Flipper. You can purchase tram tickets at a tobacco shop, or buy them from the conductor on the tram.
Overall, I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of a hostel but knows that having some privacy is a lovely thing.

We were sent here at 7.pm from the Symphony Hotel as they had overbooked. Not a central location, in a council housing estate. At least a 30 minute walk from town or a tram/bus ride. Expected to pay upfront so that we couldn't move to another hotel the next day. Rooms basic but clean.
