Not as expected - Very poor hotel!

The pictures of the hotel led you to believe it was much better than it actually was. Room was very basic. We could not believe that we were given a twin when we asked for a double (the two beds had simply been pushed together). They were not very comfortable either. No duvets, old fashioned blankets and sheets, which smelt of bleach. Not enough hanging space and room was cramped. Toilet and shower was ok, but the towels were thin and poor quality. One actually ripped when used and we complained as a result. We only had breakfast once and ate out the next two days. It was pretty poor in standard. Little choice.
We looked long and hard when selecting this hotel in Amsterdam and were very disappointed. Of all the ones we selected and could have stayed at we feel it was a bad choice. Not certain how the hotel manages to get a 3 star rating. Our wish would be to have a Dutch run family hotel, which is what we thought we might get. Overall very disappointed and we certainly won't stay again at the Falcon Plaza for that price.
