Clean, Convenient, and Economical

This hotel and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and helpful in providing local information. The immediate surrounding area included parks (zoological and botantical), small/local cafes and a musuem. Though it is a relatively easy walk into the downtown area of Amsterdam, tram #9 or #14 can be boarded just outside the hotel at a cost of 1.60Euros. Comparably (for Amsterdam) this hotel is an excellent bargain. We did not eat any meals at the hotel so we cannot attest to any food or food service qualities.

Comfortable but dull

Too hot. Cramped toilet (I have long legs!). Price OK but expected more for this. Breakfasts ok but cooked food oily and FRESH fruit juice would be so much better than that plastic stuff you served. I particularly disliked the lack of anywhere to have a coffee or tea or even beer in the evening. Ideally you would put a kettle and tea/coffee in the room - so that visitors can make their own. If not then you need a bar/kitchen open to serve them. The machine in the foyer was expensive and produced the most disgusting coffee and tea I have ever drunk.
