Our first time in Amsterdam and the Cornerhouse was recommended by the friends we came with, very reasonably priced, clean, also a very nice welcome from the owners and staff. Who were very generous with their information and directions. Definate stay again. A big thank you to Theo and Hanz and co.

We were in Amsterdam for a course and almost everybody in the course complained about their hotel except for us. They even wanted to stay in our hotel. Rebecca and Theo (and other staff) were very kind and informative. Rooms were clean and when compared to its price, it is the right choice. Provides basic needs. (TV, Bath, hair-drier...) Most of the hotels offer shared facility at a same or even higher price but Cornerhouse offer you private bath. I will definetely stay there when I go back.

We arrived in Amsterdam on one of the busiest European holidays without any reservations! After walking around with huge packs for 3 hours, we finally found the Corner House had one room available. We were so happy! It turned out to be one of the best parts of our stay in Holland and in Amsterdam specificly! Hanz greeted us and was very helpfull and kind to two distressed backpackers on their first trip through Europe. Best bartenders! Best atmosphere! We had the top floor room overlooking the street; the best room in Amdam for such a busy weekend! We loved it! Clean. Cozy. We are planning a trip back as soon as possible!

I had not stayed at the Hotel in three years however had always stayed there on previous visits to Amsterdam. The welcome had not changed and the Owner Theo was as charming and helpful as ever. The staff a very helpful and make you feel part of the family. the hotel is very close to the main shopping and fun places to see. Ideal for young people who want to experience Amsterdam for the first time and for the mature type who likes clean comfort rather than style.
I would gaurantee your saty would be unforgettable and you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend ! Who can beat that.

Best welcome I ever received to any hotel! On arrival, we were greeted with smiles, kisses and a free beer! The Cornerhouse is simple and basic but is a perfect location, a few minutes walk from Dam Square, and spotlessly clean. The staff is genuinely helpful and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere with laid back music in the bar downstairs. Yes, the stairs are a little steep but it's Amsterdam. Yes, the street facing room I had meant I could hear some early morning activity and trams, but earplugs fixed that, and it's a great ambiance. True, towels were left outside the room but they were wrapped in cellophane and I prefer that to being disturbed by a knock on the door. Hard to beat this place for value for money! The three of us agreed, we'll be back.

Booked last minute and this came up. Clean but could've emptied the bins at least daily. Left clean towels in corridor!! Central location, near Dam Square, but a bit lacking in the 'personal touch'. Stairs a bit steep if you've had one too many!! Came in just before 1am and bar staff wouldn't serve us drink although the bar had quite a few people still there (not sure about local laws and were perfectly sober). Most hotels serve residents at least.

Clean, but very basic hotel. Very steep stairs so not for the less mobile. Quite noisy as close to street/trams/early morning deliveries so don't expect an undisturbed sleep. Glad we had an ensuite as door lock was dodgy and didn't fancy fighting with it every time we wanted the loo!!
Excellent small cheap friendly hotel

A large group of 14 of us ranging from 24 - 40 stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It was a fantastic little friendly hotel in an ideal location (2 mins walk to Dam Sqaure. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the rooms were basic but clean. The bar at night came alive and it was agreat place to start your night for a quick drink before heading out. When i go back to Amsterdam I will defo be staying here.

I have stayed at the Corner house now 4 times and have just booked up to stay again. This hotel is very clean and really friendly. It's in an ideal location 2mins from dam square and about 5mins to the Red light and flower Market. This hotel is not ideal for older people as there are a lot of stairs to the rooms.

The corner house radiates class in the day playing some of the finest English and Dutch Jazz and old RnB. In the night the downstairs bar comes alive with classic music accompanied by a warm and friendly atmosphere. This place is what going away and enjoying yourself is all about.
