€487 for 4 nights. Due to the Queens Birthday all hotels in Amsterdam booked out. Situated on main road 15 minutes from city centre. Room tiny and dirty, no double glazing so very noisy at night. Beds weren't made up while we were there, towels were changed. The only cleaning done was the bin was emptied. The buffet breakfast was OK and consisted of either tea or coffee, croissants, wholemeal or white bread, 3 kinds of cold meat, sliced cheese, two kinds of fruit juice and if you were down early enough you could have a boiled egg. The receptionist was the only member of staff to interact with the guests and gave the impression that if she didn't have to she wouldn't.

Use the public transport--it is excellent! Buy a 24-48-or 72 hour all access pass and go everywhere.Or if you'll only be in the city center and plan to walk, take the "Canal Bus" which gets you where you need to go, and provides you with a great vbiew that links to all the major sights--all in one.Be in Belgium in an hour or two. Or Germany. Or France. Or Luxemborg. Or Denmark. Great helpful transit info staff at the Central Station as wellas the airprot.

so easy to use buy a pass as soon as you get to central station, you can use it on all busses, trams and trains even night trams and busses it saved us loads and was so so easy to use
