If you want luxury this is the wrong hotel for you! But if you want clean and tidy at a good price this is exactly the place. Sounds confusing to get to but is very easy and free. Also free car parking.

For the price I found the Botel to be good value. Rooms were smallish, basic but clean. Beds a little on the small side but not a problem. Breakfast was ok and staff were friendly. The position of the Botel is excellent, a few yards from central station and well placed to stroll to the main areas of Amsterdam.

Not what I thought!

I thought it would be exciting to stay on a 'boat hotel' but what a let down. When we arrived we were shown to our rooms on 3rd floor overlooking a huge building site although we had specifically asked AND been promised a room at the front looking out over the water. The rooms were tiny, just enough room for the bed, bathroom was really small too. Breakfast ran out if you didn't get down there early and even then it was awful. Might as well be bread and jam all round. It was in a good position though being 2 min walk from central station and 5 min to nearest coffee shop and other shops. Staff were quite unfriendly, especially the kitchen staff. But loved Amsterdam and am going back there in Jan 06 but to a 4 star this time!! AND itÂ’s cheaper than the hotel!!!
