The Hotel Agora is ALWAYS our home away from home whenever we go to Amsterdam. The location, directly up from the Flower Market, is wonderful as far as getting to all the attractions and museums in town. The rooms are furnished very nicely; although try not get a room on the 3rd floor or above; at my age I felt like I was walking up to the sky !! The bathrooms are first rate, with the latest accomodations, and a fantastic shower. Our favorite room is the on the 1st floor overlooking the garden...The breakfast is always good, food fresh, the coffee strong and black. Please pay attention to the icons on the toaster in the breakfast room; you'll get a laugh out of them. Easy to walk everywhere from this location. I understand they are under new ownership, as of December 2005. I hope the new owners are as friendly and cordial as Els and her husband Yvo were. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
