Top Local Tips for Chisinau

Food and wine are great in Chisinau Try the restaurant Symposium (on 31 August street) or Leonardo Da Vinci, in the Sun City mall (closes at 10 pm!). While you're in Sun City also go to the Number One supermarket, go to the wine section, and ask the staff for advice buying an old, collection wine from the locked cabinet.

Cricova Visit the wine cellar in Cricova just outsite Chisinau. A wine city with 120 km with streets of wine... An amazing place

Transnistria & Tiraspol This small renegade republic is only recognized by Russia. It is worth a day trip from Chisinau (2 hrs drive to capital Tiraspol). There is less border hassle or even dangers, than one would expect. A voyage back to the old days of the Soviets. But it feels good when you leave again.
