I stayed for 28 days over Christmas and New Year and was very pleased with the service provided by an excellent and attentive staff in all departments. The hotel as situated in an very attractive bay so a room with a sea veiw is an advantage, well worth the extra charge. Convenient bus services to Valletta and other part of the island. Superb eating places close to the hotel and a large supermarket within walking distance. During my stay there were a fine mixture of clientel, Italian, German English and French with great reparte at breakfast, which was basic but adequate. For a small extra charge one could have a full cooked English breakfast. On the downside, a rather dismal dining room, no bar and a very dimmly lit lounge but as I didn't go to hang around the hotel this did not interfer to a superb holiday. My 5th visit to Malta and my happiest.
Excellent

I stayed there for one month. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the breakfasts quite adequate. Great situation on sea front. Wonderful value for money. I am returning there all being well this coming February.
Very poor standard

Luckily I didn't have to stay there myself cause i live in the area, but very good friends of mine were forced to remain there for 10 days. The Standard of this Hotel is really really bad in terms of hygiene. There were Hairs everywhere in the bed & Bathroom, the facilitie in the room looked shabby and old. The Hotel is in fact used by language schools as youth hostel and therefore is the noise in the Hotel like one. OK, the location is very good which makes people go out for the whole day and only come home for sleeping. Even Breakfast is not worth mentioning. The coffe is the most disgusting on the whole island and the rest is not much better either. I would recommend not to book there, or at least if you fancy dirty rooms and don't mind incompetent staff, to not book any meals, as it is a waste of money when you have to eat out everyday anyway.
Pleasant stay at Balluta Bay

Hotel Miremare is situated at Balluta Bay between St Julians (N) and Sliema (S). The area is not ower-crowed with tourists but close to shopping, restaurants and public transport. The waterfront promenade along Balluta Bay is one of the prettiest in Malta. Miremare is a pleasant three-star hotel with an expected Mediterranian standard.
The Best!

I got so angry, that someone could say something about Mira Mare hotel. I had a great time on Mira Mare hotel. The rooms where big and it had a great television. I thought it was a super hotel. The staff where so nice, They really took care of us students. They were so nice. And the food they served. It was just delicious. Good traditional maltese food. And the desserts they were the best. So I just wanted to the say to the people who is looking for an nice hotell to stay at, when they are in malta. I really recommend Mira Mare Hotel.

This hotel is being advertised wrongly! It is not a 3* hotel, it is bearing fit for humans to stay in. This Christmas my family and I were due to travel to this hotel, my brother and his girlfriend travelled to Malta 3 days before the family. They found the hotel in such a bad state that we refused to travel there. The whole place was dirty and covered in dust. The hotel is advertised as being refurbished in 2000; however the bathroom fittings were original and rusty. The electrics in the bathroom were hanging out of the wall, next to the shower! The breakfast consisted of stale bread and cheese with only one sort of cereal. The staff knew nothing of the local area e.g. bus times or stops, local shops. Walls were being plastered and painted all day long. The local people told us that the hotel is used as a hostel during the summer! The company we booked with Mercury Direct insisted we were the only ones to complain however we met several other very angry parties. When we refused to travel we were told we would lose 100% of the money paid, they agreed to move us but charged us!! We were all disgusted with the hotel and Mecury Direct; I strongly recommend no ones travels with them or to the hotel.
