My grandfather emigrated to Australia from Malta in the year dot. Wanted to see where he came from. Great hotel, good food, very friendly and were made to feel very at home. Great on advise as where to go, what to see, etc., would love to go back

I booked direct through the metropolemalta.com website and was given a prompt reply, confirmation and all of my queries were seen to straight away. I was actually upgraded to a balcony room and my vegetarian meals were seen to straight away. I will definitely be going back.

I think we all feel slightly insecure when we travel abroad, whether we admit it or not. We had a great time, food really good, but the main thing was the friendliness of the staff, always a smile and nothing was too much trouble, we will go back and when we reach our dotage we could retire there. By the way we had 14 days of sunshine, can't beat that in the old UK.

Easy transport to Valetta Every bus at this point goes to Valetta. Can't go wrong.

food awful, towels grey and worn out, bedding a disgrace seen better days. Not a nice pleasant place. Pool area not inviting at all.
