Disappointed
Never again. The room was extremely hot and loud, the A/C was never turned on as they kept promising for 8 days. The bathroom was really disgusting, the toilet didn't flush properly. It is too old and uncomfortable to deserve 4 stars. The only kind personal are the chiefs, they did a great job.

Comfortable and friendly
My husband and I have just spent Easter (10 days) at the Diplomat. Although not 4 star standard (more like 3) we were aware of this before we went. We found it clean, comfortable and convenient for walking either to St Julians or the ferry etc. Buses also pass the door frequently. Breakfast was quite good (hot and cold choices) although it did lack fresh crusty bread! We only had one evening meal (a buffet arrangement)which was adequate, but there are lots of lovely restaurants nearby - we thoroughly recommend "The Kitchen".
The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely break.

Good service and friendly staff
Had a wonderful time during New Year. Good food and good service from a very friendly staff.Room excellent, cleam and comfortable. Look forward to going again next New Year.

Good Service
Just returned from the Diplomat where I stayed for 1 week. Stayed over New Years. The staff were very welcoming and there were no problems. I plan to go back again. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean the food was good.

Poor service and staff, old and poorly maintained
A real disappointment with this hotel. Reception staff was unfriendly and even rude. The room was old fashioned, with old furniture, and not very clean. It reminded me of low cost North-African hotels. Hotel staff in general was unhelpful. Would not recommend this hotel.
