Worst Hotel Ever
Do yourself a favour, if you have booked a holiday at this hotel: Cancel Your Booking! Fortunately, we don't go for the hotel but for the large group of friends with whom we travel once every year. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff, room & beds smelly and bathroom not very clean. Everything is too much trouble. Food unpleasant, badly presented & not much choice, pieces of fresh fruit often rotten. Some members of our group were told off by the waiting staff!
I have travelled World-wide since a child and this hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in.

Rubbish
The first room stank of damp. It was a single room instead of the suite we had paid for. My brother-in-laws room had a toilet that didn't flush and wasn't fixed all week (they have a 2 year old child). Aircon was rubbish. Fridge didn't work for 3 days (until I really complained). TV didn't work all week (could't be bothered complaining anymore). Hotel lobby etc is not air-conditioned. The hotel is packed full of european students on cheap rates using up all the facilities. Staff were useless and couldn't care less (I assume it is because they are used to dealing with all the students). Buffet was good but attached restaurant was rubbish. I strongly recommend any of the other hotels as they all seemed much nicer, had aircon and nice restaurants etc. Oh, Quara itself is not too bad, although a bit more built up than I was expecting. I would go back to Malta but not to this hotel.

Suncrest Hotel Nightmare
If you have booked this hotel, I would strongly recommend you cancel!
It was awful, I don't think it has been refurbished since it was first built, there is almost non-existent air conditioning, we went in august so it was probably worse then but even so we just dripped sweat non-stop. The rooms are tatty to say the least, sofas in the hallways are ripped and lifts go wherever they want to or just don't go!!
We found hair baked into our daughters roll at breakfast and cold meats that were horribly warm.
We were put in a room for two when there were three of us, we didn't find staff friendly just overworked and stressed.
We left the following morning with two other couples to another hotel, much much better. I cannot understand how this had a 4 star rating.
Lastly, when you speak to the Maltese about the Suncrest they smile at you and say many years ago it was a good hotel.

Fair Do's
The Suncrest is a very large, old hotel & it shows in places, but we were satisfied, although as soon as we saw the room we had been allocated we requested a change - it was too small, but Reception were very co-operative and gave us a better one with no fuss. The accommodation was adequate, the staff were efficient and helpful, the dining facilities were very good, the location is quiet but only a few minutes walk from the busier parts (which are mostly to be avoided!), only the lifts and the pool area were sub-standard. Some of the online reviews I read led me to expect worse, but if you have a problem then a polite word in the right ears usually puts it right.
