We arrived at the Palm Court Hotel on the 4th August... the staff were very un-helpful just giving you your key and telling you in around about way to get on with it! Finally found the room sorry the hostel where we would have to stay for a week; wasnt impressed at all! By this time I was in tears and wanted to make it worse! Made our way down to the Sauna (The restaurant)where the food was VERY BASIC with no description of what we were eating, for all we knew we could have been eating one of the local cats! When you wanted a drink or something to eat you had to go to the reception, pay for it then get a reciept to take it to the bar to collect; you even had to pay for the ice. The only nice thing about the hotel was the pool and the sun shining through. All I can say is apart from the hotel I had a great time because of my family who were with me. Although I would never recommend the hotel, Malta is gorgous and the people outside of the Palm Court are very friendly and make you feel welcome but make sure you stay away from the Palm Court!!!!

Palm Court must be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The food was disgusting and recycled for the next day's meals, and the pool was so dirty you couldn't see the bottom! The staff were very rude and the rooms dirty. The rest of Malta was beautiful but would recommend staying far away from Palm Court!

What can I say if you like sleeping in urine, eating slops and a bit of a maze freak. U may rate this hotel 2 out of 10. Air con not working food, which I wouldn't feed the rats and a room I wouldn't cell Hannibal Lecter. But don't despair there is a consolation as the hotel does have an extremely sufficient and welcoming exit door. You have been warned. We looked elsewhere within 3 hours. Thank heavens there is a God.

I note that anyone who has complained about this hotel has been classed, as moaners, well all I can say is your standard must be appalling. Have you ever nursed a child who has picked up an infection form a dirty swimming pool or vomited because the food in not edible. Hygiene is not exactly rocket science. The pool hygiene left much to be desired I do not feel that having to sit next to a drain at the pool which was over flowing with gunge and smelt like a sewer exactly what I should have to expect having yes paid over 1500 pounds. Anyone who felt that bad manners from staff, poor hygiene in every area in the hotel acceptable well I would hate to see how you live your lives. To all our inmates who stayed at the same time as us Her Majesties pleasure would be more clean and better mannered than this awful hotel.

We paid a lot off money to stay at palm court and it was the pits. the rooms smelt as the water come from the bathroom, the food well what can I say if you eat that you eat any thing and believe me my hubby does but not their food so it was bad. The staff, well most off the staff, were so rude I told my kids to forget their manners and talk to them how they speak to you. The pool area was dirty and yes, people were getting robbed. this was the worse time we have ever had it was like staying in a cheep back street hotel in Blackpool only a lot more expensive. I would never go there again faulty tower good-bye and good riddance. Hello Hilary we have escaped.

My wife and I stayed at the Palm Court for 3 weeks and cannot recognize as the same place that all these moaners are describing, we found it to be OK and the staff (like most Maltese ) to be very friendly and helpful. When I return again I must spend some time looking for Palm Court 2. We are returning Aug 2007 for another 3 weeks, that is how bad it is!!

Our stay at the palm court hotel malta was a pleasent one with no major dramas the food was not the best in the world but that is what you can expect from a 3* hotel the staff were always friendly treat people how you would like to be treat yourself scream at them does nothing ut raise your own blood pressure i did witness one person in particular ranting at the reception staff when they arrived but the reception soon sorted the situation quite pronto like. the pool area was kept cleanish but could do with a few improvments nowt major just a lick of paint would do the trick. Overall you get what you pay for and this holiday was cheap we booked 2 months in advance and for 6 of us cost was less than a grand. We have just paid our deposit for two weeks at the same hotel for christmas so it goes to show that even though people say its a load of rubbish i personally dont think they can see past their noses to be honest these people were expecting more for their money but i am not complaining....

Right to start off, I've been going to Malta 16yrs... In all them years the only trouble we've have was our car got stolen. Police were great though! Otherwise no trouble with the Maltese there great people! :D
Palm Court... what can I say? Cheap and tacky...yes... but come on.. What are you expecting?? A spa? 5* food? Luxury??? Why not pay an extra £500 and stay in the Qwara palace?
The palm court is a great hotel cheap... tidy... clean... tho I do admit the corridors smell... but this is only due to the carpets which could do with changing... but you ain't staying in the corridor so why worry? The rooms are cleaned everyday... and as for belongings getting robbed.... why not hire a safe? That's what they are there for :)... every hotel gets this problem don't they?
The food... totally British! :) wide choice buffet.. No complaints there.. I mean why diss the place? Not as if you're going to stay there all day is it? So just make the most of your time there...don't stay in the hotel all day.. get out go on a trip... go on a bus... I just see the palm court as a place to rest my head :) hope this helps ya'll.

Been to the Venus and Palm Court loads of times. Why because its cheap friendly and you get a good crowd. If you want a five star hotel then this is not the place go elsewhere and pay at least double. If you want a laugh and have fun then this is the place. Hey Kirsty when are you inviting me to Doncaster.

Top Local Tips for Qawra

nice island to visit any one wanting fun and great views visit malta and all its sights, the first time i went to malta it was love at first sight.keep going back hoping one day to live in malta, just love the people and all the sights around the island.

Freeways Head to Freeways - it is literally 30seconds from the hotel. The people are very friendly and the prices are very very good. The best thing is that you get to keep the car for the maximum time as you can return it 30seconds away from the hotel! No need to pay for buses or taxi's back from the rental place or have to pay extra for collection!

getting about get out to popeye village, blue grotto, craft villages, valletta market sat/sun eat at vinnys buggibba sea front excellent food service
