Not 4*
Our room was disappointing, mainly due to the tatty bathroom .i.e. Rusty shower head, therefore marking in the bath. Hand basin cracked, but generally plenty of hot water after first night. Chambermaid regularly forgot to correctly make up beds, but cleaned up well. Wardrobes nearly drove me crazy, mostly because of those awful hangers coming adrift!! The situation is fantastic and so are facilities. The meals were generally good-if a bit restricted for choice. About four of the evening meals out of the fourteen were poor as regards to the main course. We, along with others, got the impression that the French were getting a bit better treatment than the Brits and the French "gentlemen" would occasionally sit down to dinner, wearing shorts. In all,we would return to the Mellieha Bay hotel-just for the situation, but specifically ask NOT to be housed in Room 404.

Relaxation to perfection
Our second year at Mellieha Bay Hotel. Last year we wanted to see Malta, this year to relax and unwind. This is the perfect place to do it. The staff are always cheerful and helpful, the food is delightful with something for everyone's taste. I ate really well and I can be a fussy eater! The facilities are great with plenty of choice to sit and relax by a pool or on the private beach. The rooms are lovely - not fussy but comfortable and kept spotless. Thanks everyone - see you next year
